This cycle tour in Switzerland has been graded as a level 2-3 independent tour. Rightfully called the Lake-Route this tour touches altogether 16 lakes between Vevey on Lake Geneva to Lake Constance. Some lower and higher climbs between the lakes have to be managed. This fact as well as some longer distance justifies the tour grading. Well, you always have the option of using a train with “Veloverlad” the Swiss bike and rail system. After this tour you rightfully can claim to have seen a lot of Switzerland.

Day 1 Individual arrival at Vevey Arrival to Vevey right on Lake Geneva.
 Day 2 Vevey – Gruyères/Morlon 28 miles 45 km Today to cycle away from Lake Geneva to Gruyères. You will cycle along the old cheese-route to your destination. This lovely little town sits on top of a hill and attracts many tourists by its undisturbed medieval ambience.
Day 3 Gruyères – Boltigen approx.40 miles 65 km Todays cycle route takes you through the big dairy and cheese regions of Switzerland. You will ride in the Saanenland and Simmental valleys where you will always hear the clanging of cowbells.
Day 4 Boltigen to Meiringen/Iseltwald 47 miles 75 km Today you will cycle passed Lakes Thuner and Brienzersee with the wonderful snow covered peaks of the Berner Alps surrounding them , these truely are an unrivalled panoramic views.Then it is too Interlaken , the adventure centre of Switzerland. The lastly onto the picturesque port of Iseltwald on Lake Brienzersee. Here you will have some fantastic views across the Lake.
Day 5 Meiringen to Luzern/Horw 38 miles 60 km Today you will cycle across Brünigpass which is quite an obstacle oryou can take the cable car to Hasliberg! Then almost only downhill cycling along the side of Lake Lungernsee and Lake Sarnersee where you soon reach the banks of Lake Vierwaldstättersee.
Day 6 Luzern – Unterägeri/Zug 28 miles 45 km A shorter stage today to9 allow you time to stroll through the streets of Luzern, maybe even enjoy the panorama from the summit of Rigi or Pilatus or enjoy a boat tour of the lake. On Lake Zug cherry orchards supply all kinds of cherries and on Lake Aegerisee the Swiss were able to beat the Hapsburg armies.
Day 7 Unterägeri to Rapperswil 35 miles 55 km One of the most valuable moors of Switzerland is Rothenturm Moor and one of the most popular pilgrim centres is Einsiedeln. From Lake Sihlsee you cycle over the Etzel to the banks of Lake Zurichsee and onto a picturesque little town Rapperswil. This really is one of the highlights of the Lake-Route!
Day 8 Rapperswil to Buchs 50 miles 80 km A long stage today but mostly flat. You will cycle alongside Lake Zurichsee to Lake Walensee, nestling in midst of high and steep rock walls. At Sargans the Lake-Route joins Rhine-valley and crosses Liechtenstein to Buchs.
Day 9 Buchs – Rorschach 44 miles 70 km A comfortable and beautiful last day cycling along the River Rhine to Lake Constance and to final point of the Lake-Route in Rorschach.

How to get there Fly to Geneva airport and then by train to Vevey. From Rorschach a return transfer to Vevey is posisble . Cost £52 per person, luggage included, plus £12 per bike.
