Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holidays in Spain. This particular biking vacation in Spain is based in the historic Moorish town to Alhama de Granada and is a level 3-4 self guided cycle tour designed for experienced cyclists. This cycle tour has been designed for club or the more serious cyclist wishing to ride road race bikes over distances of around 63 miles or 100km per day. It is fixed base staying in the very traditional La Seguiriya hotel on the edge of the gorge of Alhama de Granada, Andalucia. All four rides are on good tarmac roads with fabulous scenery.

Day 1 Arrival to Alhama de Granada
Day 2 Granadino Loop 66 miles 107km
The Granadino loop which takes you from the town out through the ‘Sierra Tejeda’ natural park south east, towards Granada city, looping back through Ventas de Huelma via the lake at Bermejales to Alhama de Granada. This route is the easiest of the four giving you a steady start to the week.
Day 3 Santa Fe 63 miles 100km
The ride we call Santa Fe is exactly 100km distance. Climbing east out from Alhama, through the village of ‘Cacin’ over the hills to Santa Fe, a walled old town which a makes a great lunch stop. The ride back through the villages of ‘Chimeneas’, ‘Castillo de Tajarja’ and ‘El Turro’ before returning to Alhama.
Day 4 Loja 72 miles 115km 
Today we continue the theme of the rides getting progressively harder, this route takes you from Alhama, North to ‘Montefrio’ and ‘San Jose’ over the mountains to Loja. Climbing back through ‘Salar’ to Alhama.
Day 5 Sea View 61 miles 97.5km
At 97.5km it is the last and hardest of the four rides taking you south west from Alhama through the vegetable growing area of Ventas de Zafarraya, through the mountain pass in the province of Malaga, descending to Puente Don Manuel at 300mts before the long hard climb through Periana to Alfarnate at 1100mts with amazing views of lake Viëuela and the Mediterranean before returning via a stunning mountain road through Zafarraya back to Alhama.
Day 6 Departure after breakfast.
