Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holidays in Slovenia. Our biking vacations in Slovenia are through the wonderful picturesque Slovenian Alps, southwest Slovenia and the spa and wine region of Northeast Slovenia. Our alpine cycling holiday is extremely panoramic with views like those below and which visits such locations as Bled with its famous Lake, said by many as one of the most beautiful locations in Europe. Our four cycling tours are available as self guided cycling holidays and each cycle tour is completely different in terms of scenery.

Slovenian Alps

SLOVENIAN ALPS
Level 3 cycling holiday in Slovenia: a 7 night self guided cycling holiday.
The Slovenian Alps in northern Slovenia seem to be different to other mountain ranges; they glisten in the light as they are made of white limestone. Your tour starts cycling between isolated farms in Savinjske Alps, many cyclists admire the panoramic views this road offers of the Slovenian Alps. Then onto the Logarski Valley which is one of the most beautiful glacial valleys. Jezersko means, “place with the lake “. When the glacier melted after the last Ice Age a large lake was formed which remains to this day. From here you cycle to the world famous Bled with its lake with an old church on an island in the middle. From here youMountains Slovenia progress to the Bohinj, with its surroundings you will surely agree with the locals that this is one of the prettiest places on earth. You spend the night in a little mountain village of Sorica then the next day cycle down to the cosmopolitan town of Skofja Loka giving wonderful contrasts of the region. From here, you will enter the valley basin for the flat section to the historical town of Kamnik.

CITY TO SEA
Level 2 cycling holiday in Slovenia: a 7 or 10 night self led cycle tour.
Starting from the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana and cycling in a southwesterly direction towards Trieste and the Italian Border and the Adriatic Sea. This tour is ideal for a first cycling holiday; you can spend an extra night in the capital, which is well worth the experience, and visit the old centre. The tour follows very quiet country lanes along a region little explored by the tourist.

CYCLE AND WELLNESS
Level 1-2 cycling holiday in Slovenia: a 7 night independent cycle tour suitable for beginners.
If you are interested in spa towns and wine then this tour is for you. This cycle and wellness-cycling holiday follows a circular direction from Maribor in the northeast Slovenian region that is so famous for its spa towns. The terrain is easy making Castle this a tour suitable for beginners. Imagine cycling through vineyards, passing wine cellars with great white wine or taking a snack in a little roadside inn. Those who have only passing interest in wine may be more interested in old towns, mighty castles, stork nests on chimneys and much more.

PEARLS OF SLOVENIA
Level 2-3 cycling holiday in Slovenia: a 7 night level self guided cycle tour in the Julian Alps.
This cycle tour in Slovenia will allow you to explore the world famous Triglav National Park (Julian Alps) and its surrounding region. The most famous landmarks of this tour are Lake Bled with its church on the Island with the Triglav peaks just behind it and its famous castle on the hillside over looking the Lake and town. Other little know region but just as beautiful if not more so is Lake Bohinj where mountain scenes and tranquility meet together. If you like mountain scenes but do not want extreme sport to reach it then this could well be a tour for you.
