Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holidays in Slovenia. Our cycling holidays in Slovenia are through the wonderful picturesque Slovenian Alps. All tours are extremely panoramic with views like those below. Our cycling holidays visit such locations as Bled and its famous Lake said by many as one of the most beautiful locations in Europe.

Arrive Jamnica for first night and your information meeting about the tour and region. Jamnica is close to the Austrian border north of Ljubljana. The Slovenian Alps seem to be different to other mountain ranges , they glisten in the light as they are made of white limestone. Your tour starts cycling between isolated farms in Savinjske Alps and many cyclists admire the panoramic views this road offers of the Slovenian Alps. Then onto the Logarski Valley which is known as one of the most beautiful Glacial valleys. Jezersko means “ place with the lake “ . When the glacier melted after the last Ice Age a large lake was formed which remains to this day. From here you cycle to the world famous Bled and its lake with an old church on an island in the middle. From here you progress to the Bohinj lake , with its surroundings you will surely agree with the locals that this is one of the prettiest places on earth.  You spend the night in a little mountain village of Sorica then the next day cycle down to the cosmopolitan town of Skofja Loka giving wonderful contrasts of the region. From here you will enter the valley basin for the flat section to the historical town of Kamnik. From Kamnik there is easy access back to Ljubljana airport or city. Day 1 Jamnica ( farm tourism Koros)

Day 2 Jamnica to Sv. Duh 29 miles ( 46 km )
Today is a wonderful biking day in the forest bike park. A huge region of forest trails ready to be explored. Today around 85% of the route is on gravel tracks and forest roads. As an optional extra you could decide to take a trip in a mineal mine on your bikes! . Yes this is underground biking. First you will visit the mining museam and get kitted out with your helmet and lamp. Then following your guide you will cycle in the dark along the flat sections for 6km of the mineral mine. It is a unique and fascinating excursion. ( farm tourism Rogar ).

Day 3   Mountain Panorama tour to Jezersko 19 miles 30km
Today a day cycling along a very panoramic road and gravel tracks. In this region there are very few tarmac roads . The road network has been created by the farmers and are mainly gravel based. Over nights in hotel Planinka

Day 4    Jezersko - Gorenjska -Bled Lake  36 miles 58km   Bled  bike vacation in Slovenia
Today your cycle tour is mainly on flat roads down in the valley and is all on local tarmac lanes. In Bled you will be able to take the boat to the famous Island , visit the church and make a wish. Or you could walk up or take a horse carriage ride to the castle on the hillside , now with a great restuarant and wonderful views to the town. One thing you should try though is the famous cream slice cake only sold at the Park Hotel on the lake front , people come from hundreds of miles around to taste some !. hotel Jelovica

Day 5 Bled to Bohinj Lake 20 miles ( 31 km )
Bohinj lake is extremely beautiful. The surrounding area is less commercialised than Bled and for some this enhances the beauty. You are now in the midst of the Triglav National Park. You will follow local tarmac road and lanes. hotel Zlatoroq. Doljan Gorge cycling holiday in Slovenia

Day 6 Bohinj Lake - Sorica 17 miles ( 26 km )
Cycling out of the National Park but up the mountain road to the mountain village of Sorica. On local roads from Bohinj lake to Bohinjska Bistrica, uphill on mountain road to Sorica. Planinski dom Petrovo Brdo

Day 7 Sorica - Carniola- Kamnik 34 miles ( 54 km )
This area is less hily than the previous days. On local roads you desced the Selca valley to Škofja loka and then in flat lands to Kamnik.

Day 8   Optional Bike tour to Velika Planina 18 miles 36km
This optional ride in the high mountain range You will descend with cable car and thenmountain road back to Kamnik, tarmac 40%, gravel 60 %. You can depart after breakfast or after this days ride.

How to get there
By Plane to Klagenfurt, Maribor  or Graz airports and then by train.
Private transfers Klagenfurt to tour start £60 one way per party.
Private transfersGraz to tour start £105 one way per party
From Klagenfurt or Graz you can travel by train / bus to Bleiburg where a free pick up is available , Bleiburg is a 1 hour train ride from Klagenfurt , trains run every hour and 2.5 hours from Graz.
From Maribor train to Prevalje where we offer a free transfer
