Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our beautiful cycling holidays in Portugal. Our cycling holidays are based in the unexplored region of Alentejo midway between Faro and Lisbon. This region takes you away from the tourists region of the Algarve and into stunning countryside and coastal scenery. We have developed two trips. These cycling holiday will take you to some of the most unexplored places along SW Europe's coastline and countryside. The Alentejo is calm, quiet and exciting. You will cycle through beautiful countryside, nostalgic endless golden wheat fields undulating in the hot breeze, shapely multi colored cork oak trees, lush river galleries, warm starry nights, white washed small buildings. All this will greatly contrast with the magnificent, breathtaking and fierce coastline which is part of the PNSACV (SW Portugal's Natural Park) and because of its uniqueness it harbors many unusual animal and plant species.
The Charm of the Alentejo - 7 nights level 1-2 self guided cycle tour.
On this tour we use 3 beautiful rural guest houses renowned locally for their hospitality and cuisine. You will enjoy the friendly almost homely atmosphere in these tradition al guest houses. You will have the chance to stay more than 1 night in each place allowing you to relax and not pack up each day. You can decide to cycle the lovely circular routes on your second day at each location or sit back and watch the world go by.
Alentejo coast and countryside - 7 nights level 1-2 self guided cycle tour
This cycling holiday will follow coastal regions before heading inland through undulating scenery on a wide circular tour. This tour differs from the Charm of the Alentejo in so much that on this tour you will cycle to a new destination each day allowing you to explore a wider area of this wonderful region.
