Welcome to Hooked on Cycling holidays and our cycling holiday in Italy at the Italian Cycle Resort. Riccione on the Adriatic Coast is quickly becoming a cycling holiday mecca. Cyclist come from worldwide to spend time cycling in the wonderful landscapes and enjoy the special hospitality offered. This biking vacation is suitable for the Leisure cyclists , Tourists , Club Cyclists and also their families. This is a guided holiday but also you are free to cycle self guided. Some weeks you can expect the hotels to be almost full just with cyclists.
Centrally located the Italian regions of Romagna , Umbria and Marche really are great regions for cycling. These regions live and breath cycling and the locals love the cycle tourist or club cyclist taking their cycling holiday. Apart from the crystal blue seas giving wonderful coastal rides there is the green lush hinterland behind the coastal resorts. Here in spring you get peach blossom and wild roses and in autumn the first truffles and chestnuts. Cycling out of the peak Italian holiday months is a real pleasure with quiet lanes , ancient medieval villages to cycle through , great scenery and all with the knowledge you are with an expert guide cycling with you . Of course nearby you have San Marino and Venice for those longer days excursion if you bring partners or family. This really is a location to envy all cyclists .
Our base is a lovely 4 star hotel around 5 minutes walk from Riccione centre but only 75 metres from the beach. We have selected this hotel for their warmth of welcome and fabulous hospitality. Wonderful buffet style meals ( Vegatarian’s catered for ) to fill the hunger of any cyclist and great wines. Wine and water is included in your evening dinners and in the afternoon a pasta snack in provide to replenish the energy before dinner. Heated swimming pool and a wellness centre of substantial size. Slides shows, talks , Italian cooking , Italian language and other activities are also often arranged during the evening or just chill out in the nice Hotel bar .
For Families with one or two cyclists there is much to do , if both parents cycle the hotel child sitting service can be used , also during the summer child entertainers are available.
The garden of the hotel are a fabulous place to sit around the pool after your days cycling with a glass of wine , beer or expresso !. The hotel has dedicated cyclist facilities , safe storage , workshop , energy kit to take while cycling ( dietary supplements, honey , bananas) , washing service , yet only a few minutes from the beach and miles of sand.
Six days a week , the dedicated cycling guides will organise group rides of various lengths from 30 miles up to around 90 miles or if you wish follow one of the pre-routes tours around the superb countryside. The Guides determine the route length based on their guests requirements. For the non-cyclist there is much to do in Riccione , beach , boutiques , shopping malls and activities organised at the hotel . Children are also well catered for with play areas and activities .

Easy - 30/40 miles at average 10/11 mph
Medium 50/60 miles at average 12/13 mph
Advanced >60 miles at average 14/16 mph

How to get there
By Plane
To Bologna ( Forli ) , Ancona airports with Ryanair or Charter flight to Rimini airport we can arrange transfer to the hotel as detailed above . If you fly into Bologna International airport a pick up service is possible for a small cost or maybe take the train to Riccione from Bologna. Transfer cost from Forli is £64 per person ( minimum 2 persons ) and from Bologna International and Ancona £72 per person ( minimum 2 persons ).
A train service also runs from Bologna to Riccione takes around 1.5 hours and costs around 14€ and also from Forli to Riccione for around 5€
A bus service runs from Forli and leaves 30 minutes after the Ryanair flights and costs 10€ single to Riccione
