Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holidays in Germany. This particular biking vacation in Germany is available as a self guided cycle tour. Taking advantage of the mild climate, this cycling tour touches three very different regions of Europe, Pfalz, Baden and Alsace. Seen from the points of history and climate the regions share one thing in common, wine growing. Culinary speaking you find a great variety to spoil your palate. During this trip lovely countryside interchanges with cultural highlights. How did the Romans bring the wine growing culture into this region? Which historical monuments were left by the German Emperors in Worms, Speyer and Strasbourg? These are only some of the questions answered during the tour.
Available daily from 9th May to 10th October Level 1-2 self guided tour
Day 1 Individual arrival to Heidelberg If enough time remains after your arrival take an evening stroll to the famous castle of Heidelberg, down to the banks of river Neckar and through the idyllic old university town.
Day 2 Heidelberg to Worms 28 miles 45 km Today you cycle along the river Neckar to the old roman town Ladenburg, with its very beautiful and historical old town. Crossing the Rhine plane you directly arrive at the old emperor town of Worms. The health-spa offers a variety of well-being facilities at the disposal of our guests.
Day 4 Bad Dürkheim to Germersheim 44 miles 70 km Today you cycle through Deidesheim with its medieval town hall, you then bike to the secret wine capital Neustadt.
