Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holiday in the southern area of Austria known as the Austrian Tuscany. This cycling holiday in Austria has been designed as a self led cycle tour which brings Wine and Wellness to your hearts. This cycling region is the area where Austrian wines are produced but also has many fabulous spa towns also to enjoy. You can easily reach the start of this cycling holiday by low cost airlines into Graz. This Wine and Wellness cycling holiday is ideal for a first time holiday or more experienced cyclist who wishes a relaxing holiday
Should you once again owe your body a favour, treat yourself to this bike tour! Numerous spas on your path through the "Austrian Tuscany" will allow your body to relax. The fresh air and the exercise on the bike, never turning into an extreme sport, will make you feel well in a short period of time. A special treat for your palate is the south Styrian wine region around Ehrenhausen and Gamlitz is a secret tip for wine connoisseurs. The native cuisine with Steirerkäs (Styrian cheese) and Styrian beef is something that the Syrians can be proud of. Listen to your body! Bike along! and have some great fun in the less known but beautiful region.

You will follow wonderful bicycle paths, small side roads, some short hilly paths in the vineyards and only main roads  for short distances into towns.

Day 1 Arrival Graz/Unterpremstätten
On arrival there will be a hand over of more tour information and distribution of bikes. This was the Cultural Capital 2003 and it is a lovely town to look around with a city stroll.

Day 2 Graz/Unterpremstätten - Sulmtal/Gleinstätten 34 miles 55 km
Today's cycling leads you through numerous pumpkin fields to St. Martin. Peaceful towns such as Stainz are located on the way. The famous Schilcher wine is produced in this region. This is a wonderful cycling day , you will notice the scenery is so much like Tuscany!cycling holiday in Austria you could be in Italy.

Day 3 Sulmtal/Gleinstätten - Gamlitz 25 miles 40 km
Plenty of wine! The most famous varieties are cultivated here such as Riesling, Welschriesling and White Burgunder. There are some hills to ascend, but you will always be treated to a beautiful view of the "Styrian Tuscany" landscape and neighbouring Slovenia. While in Gamlitz visit the wine musuem at Castle Gamlitz.

Day 4 Gamlitz –Bad Radkersburg 28 miles 45 km
After wine comes water. Water in all possible forms washing down this stage to Bad Radkersburg. With the River Mur as a guideline you arrive at lake Röckseeand maybe take a refreshing plunge then onto the thermal spas of Bad Radkersburg with its historic old town with very well preserved overall appearance. Entrance to the thermal spa Parktherme is included!

Day 5 Excursion to Koech approx. 22miles 35 km
You cycle through the hilly landscape around Bad Radkersburg. We are sure that you will enjoy the impressive nature and the many beautiful villages. You should plan a stop at a Heuriger to taste tangy wines and self-made delicacies!

Day 6 Bad Radkersburg to Spa of Loipersdorf 38 miles 60km
From one thermal spa to the next one! Sunflowers, colourful pumpkin fields and a lot of fruit trees are leading you along the Austrian-Slovenian border to the well-known thermal village Loipersdorf.

Day 7 Loiperdorf - Gleisdorf - Graz 35 miles 55 km + train ride
Today beautiful landscapes as far as your eyes can reach. Persuade yourself in one of the numerous “Heurigen” to sample the high quality of the tasty Styrian food. You also have the possibility to make an excursion to the castle “Riegersburg” where you can visit a unique bird´s eye view. From Gleisdorf you go by train back to Graz.

Departure after breakfast.
