Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holiday and our cycling holiday in Austria around Lake Constance. This cycling holiday is ideal for untrained cyclists and family cycling as it follows cycle ways around the Lake. During this cycling holiday you will visit three countries , Austria , Germany and Switzerland. The cycle tour is for six nights and we have graded the tour as a level 1-2 cycle tour. Lake Constance lies between the Austrian , German and Swiss Borders and has some of Europe’s most stunning scenery as its back drop and also some glamour within its neighbouring towns. Your general tour will encircle the lake allowing you to sample the pleasures at your leisure. You will find this a fabulous relaxing cycling holiday.

Day 1 Bregenz
Individual arrival at Bregenz ( during the festival period we may have to book into a neighbouring town) on the east shores of Lake Bodensee. After booking into your hotel pick up your bikes ready for the first days cycling. Relax in this wonderful town on the Austrian side of Lake Constance. Bregenz is famous for having the largest open air stage in Europe. Also to view is Martins Tower built it 1599 now housing a local museum. On the outskirts of Bregenz is the large range of hills the Pfander mountain giving wonderful views across the Lake.
Day 2 Bregenz to Rorschach 24 miles 39 km
Today you cycle along beside the lake in a clockwise direction through the nature reserve Rheinsplitz. Today you are on the Swiss banks of Lake Constance. Rorschach is a magnificent port town with a very old monastery of St Gallen. The old town is a must to walk around with historic streets and merchants houses. If you decide to take a look at St Gallen you can take the railway there, see the impressive church and library of the old monastery.
Day 3 Rorschach to Constance 27 miles 43 km
Today via Arban , Romanshom and Guttingen to Constance. Arbon is on a site of a castle built by the Romans in the 3rd century and later altered in the 1500's. If you are interested in Art why not visit the Martinskirke with its gothic Bell Tower and 18th century town hall. Before you reach Constance visit the Castle Seeburg with its beautiful park in Kreuzlingen. On arrival in Constance enjoy some time exploring this wonderful town or even take a boat trip on the Lake. There are many museums in Constance but also take a look at the minster with of course the usual ancient crypt.
Day 4 Constance to Rheinfall and Schaffhausen and back 35 miles 57 km by bike plus train trip
A day passing along the Swiss Border to Gottlieben , Ermatingen and onto Schaffhausen where you can visit the largest waterfall in Europe. After some time you take the train back towards Constance. Of course if you wish a days rest , cycle down to Constance and relax in the city or take the train to the waterfalls instead.
Day 5 Constance to Friedrichshafen 30 miles 48 km by bike and a short boat trip
A cycle ride to Staad and onto the famous flower Island Mainau. Here you will have time to visit the fabulous Island. Then its by ferry from Constance to Meersburg with its historical old village. The last section takes you alongside the lake to Friedrichshafen where you can visit the Zeppelin museum.
Day 6 to Bregenz 24 miles 38 km
Cycling today along the Lake again back to Bregenz where you cycle through the nature reserve and maybe visit the Islandat Lindau.
Day 7 Tour Complete
